This book has left me with uneasy feeling and not sure whom was the perpetrator in the end, it got confusing reading it with the jumps from past to present and also I had to read some parts twice to click whom it was talking about

The Recovery Of Rose Gold by Stephanie Wrobel, is the story of Rose Gold and her mother and how you can recover from Muchausen syndrome by proxy。 What you wouldn’t expect is for the daughter to take in the mother on her release from prison。 I have to say that whilst the storyline was very clever and well thought out, I personally disliked both main characters enormously。 To the extent that I didn’t particularly like the book because of this。 I can appreciate that the book is well written but I j The Recovery Of Rose Gold by Stephanie Wrobel, is the story of Rose Gold and her mother and how you can recover from Muchausen syndrome by proxy。 What you wouldn’t expect is for the daughter to take in the mother on her release from prison。 I have to say that whilst the storyline was very clever and well thought out, I personally disliked both main characters enormously。 To the extent that I didn’t particularly like the book because of this。 I can appreciate that the book is well written but I just didn’t enjoy reading about such gloomy, miserable characters。 。。。more

This story is pretty messed up! 。。。more

Rose Gold Watts spent her life being abused but her mother。 A victim of Munchausen by Proxy, Rose Gold ultimately ends up getting hers and sends her mom to prison for five years。 Once released, she is finally able to get her revenge on the woman who made her life complete misery。With a completely unexpected ending, if you’re familiar with and curious about the real-life story of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, this psychological thriller offers a fresh take on that cruel and unusual situation。

3。5 stars。 This book was a quick and easy read。 This story takes you through a story like Gypsy Rose's but imagine the mom goes to prison and once she is released it's Rose Gold's time to get revenge。 While it was clever and the insight into Rose Gold and her mother's POV, it was very slow developing。 Nothing truly interesting and thrilling happened until the second half of the book。 Overall it was still a good twist to a story most everyone knows。 3。5 stars。 This book was a quick and easy read。 This story takes you through a story like Gypsy Rose's but imagine the mom goes to prison and once she is released it's Rose Gold's time to get revenge。 While it was clever and the insight into Rose Gold and her mother's POV, it was very slow developing。 Nothing truly interesting and thrilling happened until the second half of the book。 Overall it was still a good twist to a story most everyone knows。 。。。more

I was torn between rating this three stars and four, but I settled on four for a number of reasons and I do think it deserves the full four stars。This is a very well-written novel。 It was easy to read and kept me hooked the whole way through, even though I can confidently say that none of the characters in this story are likable。 Not one。 The narrative is told to us through both Rose Gold's eyes and her mother's。 Initially, I did not like Patty's voice, and Patty's narrative is the only reason I I was torn between rating this three stars and four, but I settled on four for a number of reasons and I do think it deserves the full four stars。This is a very well-written novel。 It was easy to read and kept me hooked the whole way through, even though I can confidently say that none of the characters in this story are likable。 Not one。 The narrative is told to us through both Rose Gold's eyes and her mother's。 Initially, I did not like Patty's voice, and Patty's narrative is the only reason I could not give this five stars。 I really wish that the authour had given us a bit more of Patty's thought process in relation to why she did what she did to her daughter。 There were parts where I was even doubtful that Patty had done what it was claimed she had (although, I suspect I should give props to the authour for this as I wonder if this was intentional)。 On top of that, sometimes Patty's narrative voice just sounded like a caricature of a villain and I felt it difficult to take her seriously in any capacity。 I would not have minded if the novel were slightly longer, so I think it is unfortunate that we weren't given more detail on Patty, her past, and the way she thinks。Rose Gold is the strongest voice in the novel, and there were many moments I was able to relate to the choices she made。 Rose Gold's side of the story is very solid, and enjoyable to read even if the subject matter is not "fun"。I would recommend this to someone who wants a decent thriller but doesn't want to invest too much time into one。 I finished reading this in a couple of days, and it was easy to put down and pick back up。 This style of writing and story is a good addition for anyone reading a novel with a heavier writing style that requires breaks in between reading。 (view spoiler)[And I hated Rose Gold's father more than any other character in the story。 Seriously hated him。 I didn't see his point of view in anything at all, and I'm not sure if that was intentional or not but seriously, that guy sucked。 (hide spoiler)] 。。。more

That is severely fucked up。 And then she just gets to wander off into the sun while her mother is locked up again。 This time for a crime she didn’t commit。 It was just a cycle of one mentally ill person harming another over and over and it just wasn’t a great time。 It was a fast read, and I was interested to see where the story would lead。 But ultimately I didn’t like its conclusion。 。。。more
